On Instagram, MSI is giving the first information about an upcoming device that it will officially present at CES 2024 next week.
The upcoming product is a portable gaming device that features gamepads and is emblazoned with the “True Gaming” emblem, which is set to be part of MSI’s latest line of gaming products. The company is first showing off its new system on social media, referring to it as “the new generation of MSI Dragon.” This dragon will appear on the MSI Gaming logo that will be placed on the back of the device as seen in one of the images published by MSI.

While MSI has yet to reveal specific details about the new handheld, it’s almost certain that it will be powered by Intel’s latest Core Ultra 100 series and not AMD’s Ryzen Z1 SoC that we see in other portable gaming consoles. The reason is Intel’s move to respond to MSI’s announcement, which hints that MSI’s creation will be the first to be based on the Core Ultra 100H Arc. MSI’s mobile device is poised to enter the competitive arena, potentially challenging the likes of the ASUS ROG Ally and Lenovo Legion GO, which feature the Ryzen Z1 Extreme APU.
It would also be interesting if other brands consider entering the competition against the Steam Deck, which is aimed at a more affordable segment.
