Ericsson plans to lay off 8,500 employees worldwide as part of the company’s cost-saving program, according to a Reuters report.
On Monday, Ericsson announced that it will cut 1,400 jobs in Sweden.
The company previously announced plans to cut spending by 9 billion crowns ($880 million) by the end of 2023 as demand weakened in some markets, including North America.
Ericsson’s last major round of layoffs was in 2017.
