Microsoft is holding a special event later this month where it plans to detail “the future of work with AI” and demonstrate how ChatGPT-style AI will work in Office applications such as Teams, Word and Outlook.
Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella and the head of Microsoft 365, Jared Spataro, will hold the press conference on March 16
The Verge revealed last month that Microsoft was planning an AI event in March to showcase how new ChatGPT-style AI will transform Office productivity apps.
After announcing and demonstrating the Prometheus model in the new Bing search engine last month, it’s time to look at Microsoft’s plans for work, where it’s putting a lot of weight with its apps and services. The Information website reported earlier this year that GPT models from OpenAI have been tested in Outlook to improve search results.

It has also been tested with features to suggest email replies and embed Word documents to improve a user’s writing. Microsoft yesterday launched a new productive AI experience CoPilot in Microsoft Dynamics 365 and Viva Sales, which uses the Azure OpenAI Service to generate sales emails. Microsoft says people should tune in to its special event “to learn how AI will power a whole new way of working for every person and organization.”
It is not yet certain whether Microsoft will broadcast the event live or if it will opt for its on-demand availability a few hours after its completion as it did with the previous AI presentation.
