It may have ditched its own Exynos processors for the Galaxy S23 series, but Samsung has no plans to stop developing its own mobile SoCs for its mid-range and entry-level devices.
The company officially announced the Samsung Exynos 1380 SoC, a new 5nm scale mid-range chipset with an octa-core CPU (4x Cortex-A78 2.4GHz + 4x Cortex-A55 2.0GHz), ARM Mali-G68 MP5 graphics processor, AI engine NPU power 4.9 teraflops and built-in antennas 5G NR Sub-6GHz + 5G NR mmWave (3.79Gbps downlink and 1.28Gbps uplink), Bluetooth 5.2, NFC, GPS and WiFi 6.
According to the company, the Exynos 1380 SoC will bring to the mid-range category support for FHD+ 144Hz resolution screens, LPDDR4X/5 RAM memory, UFS 3.1 storage, a 200MP camera sensor and the ability to shoot and play videos in resolution up to 4K at 30fps.
The information says that the Exynos 1380 SoC will make its debut in the upcoming Samsung Galaxy A54 which will logically be announced in March along with the Samsung Galaxy A34.
