Samsung seems to be preparing its first sensor for 1-inch smartphone devices, although information points in the direction of two sensors.
But don’t expect them to arrive on a Galaxy smartphone in 2024 and 2025, as the company plans to stick with smaller cameras for those smartphones. Samsung is a leading company in the smartphone camera sensor industry, with Sony second.
The latter already has a one-inch camera, while Samsung is focusing on higher-resolution sensors. More specifically, the ISOCELL HW1 will be a 1/1.05-inch sensor with 0.56ÎĽm pixels. ISOCELL HW2 will be the second 1/1.07 inches with 0.5ÎĽm. Both with 432MP resolution. The report does not mention the release date of these sensors.

However, the Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra and Galaxy S25 Ultra will stick to the 200MP cameras with the company focusing on improving the sensor rather than increasing the resolution.
