With a DxOMark score of 136 points, the Xiaomi 13 Pro shows satisfactory exposure, nice colors and good detail in both photos and videos. sciiThe camera of the Xiaomi 13 Pro has some similarities with the hardware of the Xiaomi 12S Ultra, but there are also differences that should be noted.
The main camera module uses the same 1-inch 50MP sensor, but the telephoto is different. More specifically, the telephoto of the Xiaomi 13 Pro does not use the periscope design that the user will encounter in the Xiaomi 12S Ultra, but comes with a shorter focal length that has better light capture capabilities.
Another difference is that the Xiaomi 13 Pro is equipped with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 compared to the first generation found in the Xiaomi 12S Ultra. Both of course have Leica lenses and Leica color modes.
Overall the camera performance is very close to these two devices. But compared to the current flagship camera phone, the Honor Magic5 Pro, the Xiaomi 13 Pro falls short in many areas despite the larger sensor. In terms of exposure, the Xiaomi showed unnatural contrast in backlighting conditions. On the other hand, there was some noise on the Honor in low light, natural of course since it has a smaller sensor, while in terms of video, both exposure and focus were less stable on the Xiaomi 13 Pro compared to the Honor.
