Reports have surfaced that Samsung is considering ditching Google Search and starting to use Microsoft’s Bing AI engine on its Galaxy smartphones and tablets. If such a thing were to happen, it would be a historic moment in the field of technology. But, it seems that we will not experience such a thing.
According to the Wall Street Journal, people familiar with the matter say Samsung has suspended discussions about replacing Google’s search engine with Microsoft’s Bing AI and has no plans to change its devices’ default search engine any time soon. While the decision probably wouldn’t be as clear-cut as initial reports suggested, it now appears that Samsung has halted its alleged plans and is no longer moving ahead with Microsoft Bing adoption.
The reasons why the South Korean giant would make the change were mainly related to the progress of Bing and the new AI capabilities. However, Google took many and quick steps in the right direction for the times.

Now, it not only has Bard AI, but also new Google Search with AI features. We don’t know if Samsung decided to suspend the Google Search replacement because of the above, if negotiations with Microsoft failed, or if it was driven to this decision for different reasons. In any case, Bing AI already exists on Galaxy smartphones and tablets via SwiftKey which comes pre-installed on these devices.
