Lenovo was at CES 2024 and showcased new additions to its ThinkBook, Legion, LOQ, Yoga, Tab, and IdeaPad lineups. Arguably, the most interesting product is a laptop called ThinkBook 13x Gen 4 SPE. What makes this laptop interesting is that it has an E-ink cap that can be adjusted to the user’s preferences.
As you can see in the images, the cap is capable of supporting a variety of different colors and patterns, and even features a dynamic clock. This external part of the laptop is said to support thousands of images and since it is an E-ink display, it consumes very little power.
Lenovo says the cap uses so little power that it won’t affect battery life. Also, the display on the lid will continue to work even when the laptop is turned off. Although the SPE is just a concept right now, its little brother – the ThinkBook 13x Gen 4 – will be available for purchase later this year. Weighing in at 2.20 kg, this 13-inch laptop features a 74 WHr battery (21 hours of video playback), an Intel Core Ultra processor, 32GB of LPDDR5x RAM, and Harman/Kardon speakers. Like any Intel Core Ultra PC, it has a dedicated Neural Processing Unit (NPU) for AI functions.

Next is the Lenovo Legion 9i, which features an Intel Core i9-14900HX. With this powerful CPU the laptop combines the RTX 4090 GPU. Lenovo describes this laptop as a device for gamers “who only want the best”. Additionally, the Legion 9i features a Smart FPS mode that is said to monitor power usage between the CPU and GPU and optimize it to increase frames per second. Rounding out the package is a 165Hz VRR Mini-LED display, 64GB of DDR5 RAM, 2TB of Gen4 PCIe storage, and a 99.99 Whr battery.
The company, at CES 2024, also announced several Yoga laptops, such as the Yoga Book 9i. Lenovo claims the Yoga Book 9i is the world’s first full-size laptop with dual OLED displays. This 13-inch laptop is powered by an Intel Ultra Core processor and features a 2.8K OLED display and a Bowers & Wilkins rotating soundbar.

With the exception of the SPE, all other laptops will be released in 2024 in the US and other markets. The Lenovo ThinkBook 13x Gen 4 will be available starting at $1,399, the Lenovo Legion 9i will cost $4,399 and up, and the Yoga Book 9i will retail for $1,999.99.
