The Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra has had a successful run among Android enthusiasts, but it’s about to give way to its successor, the Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra.
The much-anticipated new model is set to debut in a few weeks and is expected to build on the achievements of the S23 Ultra with artificial intelligence at its core.
However, in terms of the hardware that will integrate each model of the series, surprises are diminishing due to the latest leak that revealed the specifications of all three models. Together, there are also images of the entire series in four different colors. Evan Blass, a well-known leaker, shared on X (formerly Twitter) what appears to be an official image with the specifications of all models in the Galaxy S24 series. While it doesn’t reveal every detail, it does provide a glimpse into the key specs and features of Samsung’s upcoming flagship smartphones.
According to previous leaks, it is suggested that all three models will be powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset. The leak also points to high-end features such as an IP68 rating, an impressive 2,600 nits maximum screen brightness, 8K video recording capability and some interesting software enhancements such as a “smart keyboard” and a dynamic lock screen.
The flagship Galaxy S24 Ultra is expected to feature a titanium design, a large 6.8-inch QHD+ display, 12GB of RAM, and 256GB or 512GB storage options. In terms of battery life, it is rumored to house a 5,000mAh battery that can charge up to 65% in half an hour, while the main camera is said to have a stunning 200MP resolution.
The zoom capability is where things get interesting as the leak suggests that the Galaxy S24 Ultra will feature a “Quad Telephoto” system, offering 2x, 3x, 5x and 10x zoom levels. However, previous leaks suggested that the S24 Ultra could feature either a dual 3x and 10x telephoto lens, or a combination of 3x and 5x. The term “quad telephoto” can be a bit misleading, suggesting native zooms of 2x, 3x, 5x and 10x, which may not be entirely accurate, but we’ll have to wait for the official launch to find out more.
Turning our attention to the Galaxy S24 and S24 Plus, the two models share quite a few features. Both models feature an Armor Aluminum 2.0 design, are equipped with a 50MP primary camera and offer 30x digital zoom. They are also expected to include a “dual telephoto” system with 2x and 3x zoom. Adding to the flurry of leaks, another major tip from tipster Arsene Lupine at X revealed a hundred high-definition renders of the full Galaxy S24 lineup in four colors.
These are rumored to be called Onyx Black, Marble Grey, Cobalt Violet and Amber Yellow.
