Samsung’s Galaxy Watch is one of the best Android smartwatches out there, and in recent series the tech giant has focused on perfecting the user experience
. It continues to focus on health-oriented services and together with Google are constantly improving Wear OS. Despite Samsung’s constant improvement in terms of software, the Galaxy Watch 5 is almost identical to its predecessor. That may change with the Samsung Galaxy Watch 6. Well-known leaker Ice Universe claims that the company will increase the size of the Galaxy Watch 6 dial, while also increasing the resolution.
The 44mm will have a 1.47 inch screen with 480 x 480 pixels resolution and the 40mm will have a 1.31 inch screen with 432 x 432 pixels resolution. In comparison, the 44mm Galaxy Watch 5 has a 1.4-inch screen with 450 x 450 pixels resolution and the 40mm Galaxy Watch 5 has a 1.2-inch screen with 396 x 396 pixels resolution.
The leaker has also mentioned that the South Korean giant will reduce the bezels. Based on the data provided by Ice Universe, we expect the reduction in bezels on the 44mm model to be ~1.8mm, with the 44mm Samsung Galaxy Watch 6 having ~3.3mm perimeter bezels.
These numbers are based on the outer dimension of the watch, the actual bezels are around 3mm on the Galaxy Watch 5, so with the reduction from Ice Universe’s info, we’re now talking bezels up to 1.2mm.

The numbers are corresponding for the 40mm models. Smartwatch makers are trying to reduce bezels, just like smartphone makers are trying.
Samsung is a leader in these areas in smartphones, but when it comes to smartwatches it seems to be a bit behind. In any case, it will be interesting to see if the bezels of the Galaxy Watch 6 will indeed be as small as the figures we have in our hands reveal. Finally, many have asked the leaker if there will be a Classic model. Although he hasn’t mentioned a Pro at all, he’s confident that Samsung will bring back the Classic with its next line of smartwatches.
