Pornhub’s YouTube channel has been banned for multiple Community Guidelines violations, and no, it’s not the reason you think. It appears that the channel has repeatedly violated the directive that prohibits the publication of links to external sites that host content that is not allowed on the Google platform itself.
Before it was banned, Pornhub’s official YouTube channel had over 900,000 subscribers. The company behind the adult content site, MindGeek, says that the channel has never linked its content to porn – for sure – and that they have always made sure to adhere to the platform’s rules.
Additionally, the company says it sees YouTube’s move to Pornhub as discriminatory against those working in the adult industry, as performers and sex workers are marginalized groups that rely on social media to collaborate and come to contact with fans. Finally, MindGeek stresses that YouTube’s enforcement of its policies against Pornhub and those involved in the adult industry is haphazard and arbitrary, calling it dangerous and harmful.
