Xiaomi is aggressively entering the automotive space, specifically electric vehicles, after announcing its first vehicle.
The company says it is ready to become one of the top five automotive manufacturers in the world. The car is a Xiaomi SU7 and it runs HyperOS to manage all its functions. This is the same operating system that the company’s mobile phones run, with similar settings of course. The company created a video that shows the Xiaomi SU7 parking in a multi-story parking lot in China, a process that is not that easy.
The video has a duration of 60 seconds and the driver of the vehicle takes it to the entrance of the parking lot. Then it takes over the automatic pilot of the vehicle. The car climbed only 5 floors, avoiding obstacles, until it found a place to park.
This was done on the 5th floor, where there was a prime location. In the video we see the steering wheel turning by itself until the vehicle moves to the available position. Once it arrives, it parks with surgical precision, which is particularly impressive. The company entered an era in electric vehicles in which the competition is huge.
This in itself has brought a great reduction in prices, which of course benefits us as consumers. The company’s cars will be produced at BAIC Group, Beijing, which has an annual production capacity of 200,000 vehicles. The company will invest 10 billion dollars over the next decade, with the full support of the Chinese government, despite the large number of players in this market. However, with the problem of parking in Athens, I would very much like this function, so that the car finds its own place!
